From a farm boy with a card table at a flea market, Christopher’s Rare Coins has developed into the largest full service Iowa coin dealer. Since 1980, Christopher’s Rare Coins has been the place in the Des Moines area for enthusiasts of all ages and levels to buy and sell their coins. However, owner Chris Seuntjen’s passion for this great hobby began many years before that.

“While growing up on a farm near Mapleton, Iowa, I found and treasured my first “rare” coin, a 1919-S Lincoln Cent. On a trip to the local Coast-To- Coast store, I noticed some blue Whitman coin folders and talked my dad into buying a Lincoln cent and Jefferson nickel folder so I could collect coins.”
